Empowering Migrant Women: Library of Birmingham - 23rd Sept 2017

Women from all walks of life took part in a creative workshop in the heart of Birmingham to explore the issue of integration and 'Britishness.' The workshop was delivered by Salma and was part of her ongoing exhibiton at the Library of Birmingham which promotes the integration of migrants and shows the positive contribution they have made.

The workshop focussed on creating better understanding between women from different ethnic groups - migrants and those who don't come from migrant backgrounds. This event came at a time when hatred was spreading with a rising number of hate crimes post Brexit.

The event was in collaboration with the United Nations Migration Agency (IOM) and supported by Birmingham City Council & Dr Nasir Awan, MBE, Deputy Lieutenant of the West Midlands and CEO of Awan Marketing International PLC.
